I’m currently studying business administration in Swiss School of Business and Technology. I have always wanted to volunteer and being able to be part of Skills for Humanity — SFH is such a valuable experience for me. Moreover, I have managed to become a Communication team leader which really encouraged me to exchange ideas with my team members, make new friends as well as helping people in need within Myanmar. Being able to make a difference by volunteering thrives me to lend a helping hand anytime. After I graduate, I want to work for NGOs. I love cooking and making people happy. I’m keen on dancing and creating artworks which I could help SFH for fundraising. My main areas of expertise: finding the people in need, helping people get basic needs.

Ezra – Yan Naing Tun

Currently studying business administration in Swiss School of business and technology. Reasons why I want to volunteer with Skills For Humanity (SFH) is to help the people who have basic needs like food, place to live in, medications, children who can’t study because they can’t afford the school fees, etc.. Ever since I’ve joined this group I got more confidence in communication skills with people and I had a chance to lead some team members who are very friendly. As a team leader I need to make sure to be more precise and careful which makes me feel like I can become a better person in the future. I’m very glad to be a volunteer in SFH group and will keep happily working together with these kind people. After I graduate, I want to work for NGOs and continue to help people. I love sports, singing, playing instruments especially guitar and helping people which I can work and support for SFH. My main areas of expertise : entertaining children with my guitar, helping people in need, distributing lunchboxes to homeless people.

Daung Teza

I am currently studying Community and Public Health at University of the People. Although I am majoring in Public Health, I am mainly passionate about sociology and history. I joined Skills for Humanity (SFH) because I believe that a caring society that fosters interdependence while not diminishing the autonomy of minority groups is one avenue to resisting the ills of oppressive systems and structures, and SFH tries to respond to the needs of vulnerable groups whenever possible.

Meredith Bunn-Founder and Managing Director

I have Worked with over 138 organisations, previously and currently managing several charities within Africa, the UK, Syria and Bangladesh, having worked in many conflict zones, I gained in-depth experience of conflict, utilising my experience in hopes to reach as many persons in need as possible while also opening  new opportunities decreasing recruitment by armed groups and military insurgencies- I primarily specialise within Medical and emergency aid, Human rights, international law, War and Conflict (peace and conflict, Anti-terrorism and anti-corruption) sectors and hold diplomas from various universities, such as Johns Hopkins and the University of Geneva.
I am extremely passionate on the subjects of human rights, I believe medical care, freedom of expression and safety are human rights, which is why I founded Skills For Humanity-SFH, which is a coverall organisation, through sustainable development, advocacy and activism we hope to make a change for the better.
We are currently establishing centres and safe spaces within Southeast Asia (Presently Myanmar) which provide medical care and medical training, essential supplies to vulnerable persons, Disaster/Crisis aid and risk prevention, providing free education, Conflict resolution and mediation for/with organisations and local governments, as well as SOGIE and gender inclusion training/education.
Through my previous work, I have founded and organised various groups committees, focusing on inclusion, health, sexual reproductive health and rights, managing teams of varying sizes and some up to the number of 700.
My goal is to help prevent further conflict and recruitment of youth into dangerous and perpetuating circumstances, my hopes are by providing various routes to new opportunities and support, we will be able to create less space for persons to be trafficked or become victims of damaging circumstances, giving them a new future and one for their family.
I am dedicated to providing medical care and training, food and water supplies, disaster and risk prevention, Education, skills and mediation, a safe and supportive environment for those whom are victims of abuse or trafficking (Labour and sexual) including medical and psychological assistance, language and work experience skills. I believe no one is equal until everyone is.

I have been lucky enough to find a team of incredibly motivated individuals who are always ready to help others, no matter the situation. A lot of what we do is not glamorous, it’s dirty, it’s hard and sometimes it’s dangerous.

My team has never shied away or thought twice about it. Each and every one of them is an inspiration.”
